Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Office Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our front office, providing exceptional patient service, and managing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and experience with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Front Office Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating patient interactions, managing appointments, and supporting the overall efficiency of the clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls and inquiries.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate care plans effectively.
  • Perform insurance verification and ensure proper documentation for billing.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with medical collections and follow up on outstanding accounts.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for patient management.
  • Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Handle patient intake processes efficiently while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support medical billing and coding processes including CPT coding and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, health information management, and insurance processes.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate various software applications efficiently.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance patient experience.
