Now Hiring: School Psychologist (25/26 School Year) – Illinois

Location: Jacksonville, IL
Contract through the 25/26 school year
Schedule: 37.5–40 hours/week | Follows school district calendar
Setting: Pre-K

Pay:

  • Weekly Pay: $2,625-3,000

Your Role as a School Psychologist:

  • Conduct developmental, cognitive, and behavioral evaluations for preschool-aged children using play-based and standardized assessments
  • Participate in early childhood screening and child-find activities in compliance with IDEA and Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, related service providers, and administrators to develop and implement IEPs and intervention plans
  • Provide direct and consultative services to support students’ social-emotional learning and behavior development
  • Interpret assessment data and contribute to multidisciplinary eligibility determinations for special education services
  • Support school readiness and kindergarten transition planning for at-risk or identified students
  • Assist with the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and early intervention strategies
  • Deliver training and consultation to staff and families on child development, behavior strategies, and mental health supports
  • Serve as a member of crisis response teams and help design proactive prevention and wellness programs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Advocate for inclusive practices that promote access, equity, and success for all young learners

School Psychologist Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree (M.A., Ed.S., M.S. Ed., Ph.D., Ed.D., or Psy.D.) in psychology, social work, or counseling.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement
  • Ability to understand procedures and function in a school system with regard to the special education play in the overall education of the student
  • Prior experience in public school is desirable
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to participate in events outside normal hours, travel as needed and engage actively in the role.
  • Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.
