Job Summary
The Behavior Technician plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. This position involves implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and working closely with children and their families to promote positive behavioral changes. The Behavior Technician will collect data, monitor progress, and assist in creating a supportive environment that fosters learning and development.

Duties

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Provide direct support to children with autism and other developmental disabilities in various settings.
  • Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress to inform treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and intake forms.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to support the child’s development.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and special education.
Skills

  • Proficiency in behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other developmental disabilities.
  • Strong skills in data collection and analysis related to behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care practices, and medical documentation requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
