Seeking a dedicated Social Worker to support the well-being and development of students in an elementary school setting, serving grades K-5. This contract position covers a leave of absence and offers the opportunity to work within a diverse learning environment that includes multiple special education classrooms.

Location: Lombard, IL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention plans.
  • Support students in special education classrooms by addressing unique challenges and fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and offer resources to families for additional support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and confidentiality standards.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work with appropriate licensure or certification relevant to school settings.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in K-5 schools.
  • Strong knowledge of special education requirements and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate and patient approach to supporting students and families.
