Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist for a full-time contract position with a school district in Barrington, IL. This role will serve a K5 student population, providing comprehensive psychiatric support within a collaborative educational environment.

Requirements:

• Must meet all local and state requirements for practicing as a Psychiatrist

• Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred

• Strong background working with special education students and families highly preferred

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Typical Job Duties:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for elementary-aged students

• Develop and oversee individualized treatment and support plans

• Provide medication management and monitor effectiveness and side effects

• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success

• Participate in IEP meetings and provide psychiatric input for educational planning

• Respond to crises and develop appropriate safety interventions

• Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines

• Offer consultation and guidance to staff and families regarding mental health strategies and supports
