Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our team at Open Arms Outpatient Counseling Services. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about supporting individuals facing mental health challenges by delivering high-quality mental health services in a collaborative environment.
As a QMHP, you will work closely with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to provide interventions and coordination of care tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to positively impact the lives of those we serve.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct mental health interventions, including counseling, psychoeducation, and skill-building to support client well-being.
- Required to get at least 3 clients a week
- Utilize crisis management techniques to assist clients effectively during high-stress situations.
- Conduct motivational interviewing sessions to encourage positive behavioral changes and goal attainment.
- Facilitate telehealth appointments, ensuring clients have access to timely and effective care.
- Collaborate with community resources, medical practitioners, and other service providers to promote continuity of care.
- Perform crisis intervention and support services as necessary, ensuring client safety and stabilization.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation for all client interactions.
- Must attend weekly supervision
- Must attend monthly QMHP meeting
- Apply knowledge of psychopharmacology to complement therapeutic interventions and inform care plans.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including training in areas such as clinical coding and other relevant skills.
- Actively participate in regular team meetings, staff trainings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Requirements
- Certification Requirement: Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) Certification required. Applicants without valid certification will not be considered.
- Client Engagement: Responsible for securing and maintaining a minimum of three (3) client cases per week.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling) required.
- Active QMHP certification in Virginia.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, substance use challenges, or co-occurring disorders.
- Strong intervention skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to dynamic situations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
