Before Care Staff
The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking Before-Care staff to join our schools.
The Before Care Staff member is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the before school care program. This individual ensures a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for students before the start of the school day. Staff arrival is at 7:00 AM, with student entry from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM. Teaching staff members will transition to their homeroom at 7:45AM while all other Before-Care Staff members assist with the students’ transition to their homeroom. Students will transition to their homeroom at 8:00 AM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Management:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for students.
- Ensure the program operates smoothly and efficiently including breakfast management.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Student Engagement:
- Welcome students as they arrive and ensure they are engaged in activities.
- Monitor student behavior and implement disciplinary measures when necessary.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including emergency procedures.
- Conduct regular safety checks of the facility and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and incidents.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with parents, addressing any concerns or questions.
- Coordinate with school administration and teachers regarding student needs.
- Provide regular updates on the program’s activities and progress.
- Administrative Duties:
- Assist with maintaining updated student information (i.e. roster and attendance management).
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- 1 Year of Experience in childcare.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
