Substance Abuse Counselor (New Grads Accepted) - Roxboro, NC

Job Type: Full Time

Shift: Days (Monday-Friday)

Pay - $ 57,000 - 72,000 Annual

Job Description:

The Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) provides professional substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and behavioral health services to individuals and families. The LCAS and/or CADC will use evidence-based practices to assess, diagnose, and treat substance use disorders, while promoting recovery and wellness in a trauma-informed and person-centered manner. This position complies with all standards and regulations set forth by the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board (NCSAPPB).

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and substance use evaluations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions
  • Utilize evidence-based approaches such as CBT, MI, and relapse prevention models
  • Coordinate care with internal and external providers (e.g., case managers, primary care, legal system)
  • Monitor client progress and revise treatment plans as needed
  • Document all services in accordance with Medicaid, agency, and state requirements
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and clinical supervision

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current LCAS licensure through the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board (NCSAPPB)
  • Current CADC credentials through the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board (NCSAPPB)
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related human services field
  • Dual licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC) preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, preferably in a community-based or outpatient setting
  • Experience with SAIOP, SACOT or outpatient treatment program
  • Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction models
  • New Graduates are also accepted

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
