Job Summary:

Recruits sufficient numbers of suitable and committed students to enable the Center to achieve and maintain 100% On Board Strengths (OBS) and whose length of stay of those students recruited and arrived be such that the retention goals established by the National Office of Job Corps and indicated on the Outreach Admission Outcomes Measurement System (OAOMS) 10 are met.

Job Duties:

Counsels applicants for enrollment in the Job Corps and determines if applicants will be "committed and suitable" students who can benefit from the services provided. Arranges locations for applicants' pre-arrival counseling, provides counseling, and makes a commitment to determinations. Manages the arrival of new students to the Center and completes the Admission Counselor Assessment Tool (ACAT) and intake information on the Personal Personalized Career Development Plan (PCDP). Responsible for monthly total arrival quota. Responsible for the Zero Tolerance (ZT) separation measure of students retained. Responsible for 90-day stay measure for students you have retained. Outreach Admission Outcomes Measurement System (OAOMS) will be the tool used to determine individual statistics. Responsible for the scheduling and the arrival of a minimum of seven (7) students to the Center every month. Report all Talking Leaves Job Corps Center business to your supervisor/manager. If they are unavailable you should follow the chain of command by reporting the information to your Center Director. Responsible for monitoring all online prospects. Other duties may be assigned.

No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

An additional one (1) year of experience in a related field.


COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care. Must have clerical and computer skills.

The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb; or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
