Position Summary This position provides education, support, and advocacy for victims of domestic violence or sexual violence by initiating outreach with them at the critical point in the cycle of violence or immediately after an abusive incident. Offers a range of emergency services to victims of domestic or sexual violence. Duties performed under general supervision.
Position Responsibilities
1. Provide assessment and crisis intervention to victims in immediate crisis.
2. Screens hotline calls for domestic violence victims and provides counseling and services as needed.
3. Assists walk-in victims to determine what services are needed, including legal services, medical services, making a safety plan, and other local services.
4. Provides assessment to determine a victim’s level of danger to recommend services to best meet individual needs of each victim.
5. Provides information, assistance, and accompaniment to victims regarding legal processes that are designed to respond to domestic and sexual violence.
6. Maintains contact and good working relationship with local resources and community agencies or programs. Obtain all domestic violence related police incidents to provide follow up to victims regarding program services.
7. Provides case management to sheltered victims of domestic violence.
8. Provides training to volunteers and local agencies to educate about services provided through the DVRC.
9. Maintains accurate files and records of clients served.
10. Collects data and completes necessary statistical reports.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.89 - $26.95 per hour
