- Make an Impact - Help students with special needs build life skills, confidence, and independence in a supportive school environment.
- Facilitate Student Counseling & Skill Development - Hold weekly 1:1 and group sessions focused on counseling, academic and social-emotional check-ins, and targeted skill-building.
- Collaborate on Individualized Learning Plans - Actively contribute to the development, implementation, and communication of IEPs or ILPs; participate in PPT meetings and review student progress with team members.
- Engage School & Family Networks - Maintain ongoing communication with parents, teachers, and outside providers to ensure alignment of student support strategies.
- Monitor Academic Progress - Conduct regular reviews of student academic accounts to identify needs for intervention, teacher communication, and/or classroom observation.
- Coordinate with School Leadership - Maintain consistent communication with the Head Life Coach and Head of School regarding student, parent, and staff matters.
- Develop Therapeutic Curricula - Design and deliver programming for psychoeducation, social skills, academic/counseling support, and other therapeutic group interventions.
- Lead Signature Spire Groups - Facilitate or co-facilitate groups such as Know Thyself, Executive Function Workshop, process groups, and parent-child groups.
- Plan & Deliver Summer Programming - Create and lead summer (ESY) therapy groups and curricula that align with student needs and school goals.
- Support Admissions Outreach - Conduct initial phone inquiries and prepare detailed summaries for prospective student evaluations.
- Implement Positive Behavior Supports - Apply PBIS strategies to foster a positive peer culture and school climate.
- Participate in Team Collaboration - Attend regular life coach meetings, case conferences, committees, pre-PPTs, and staff development sessions.
- 2+ years' experience with middle/high school students with social/emotional challenges
- CT Certification- School Counselor (#068)
