Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting students' academic, emotional, and social development. This position requires a strong background in mental health counseling, behavioral health, and childhood development, as well as the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds. The School Counselor will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a positive learning environment that fosters student growth.
Duties
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges.
- Assist in academic advising and support students in setting educational goals.
- Implement conflict management strategies to resolve disputes among students.
- Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student needs and progress.
- Collaborate with special education staff to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Develop and implement behavior management plans tailored to individual student requirements.
- Offer guidance on mental health issues and connect students with appropriate resources.
- Maintain confidentiality while working closely with child protective services when necessary.
- Promote cultural diversity counseling practices within the school community.
- Engage in classroom experience activities to better understand student dynamics and needs.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational or counseling setting is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavioral health practices.
- Familiarity with Christian counseling approaches is a plus.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding towards diverse student populations.
- Experience in childcare or social work is advantageous.
- Skills in conflict resolution, academic advising, and individual/group counseling are required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $67,921.00 - $128,851.00 per year
