Job Overview
The Community Engagement & Intake Specialist serves as a key bridge between our organization and the community, fostering meaningful relationships, promoting public health initiatives, and connecting individuals to essential mental health services. This dual-role position is responsible for developing and managing community engagement programs, coordinating volunteer efforts, and representing the organization at events to strengthen community partnerships. As the first point of contact for individuals seeking services, the specialist conducts compassionate and thorough intake screenings, gathers demographic and clinical information, verifies eligibility, and ensures clients are seamlessly connected to appropriate programs. This role requires a combination of strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and attention to detail to create a welcoming and supportive experience for every client, while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with agency policies. The ideal candidate will bring a background in social work or related fields, proven experience in community outreach and engagement, and a genuine passion for empowering individuals and strengthening community well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach through events, referrals, and campaigns to connect potential clients with services.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, and local businesses.
  • Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate outreach and partner records; prepare performance reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align outreach with organizational goals.
  • Assist with event planning, volunteer recruitment, and public relations efforts.
  • Conduct client intakes, including interviews, screenings, and assessments.
  • Document client behavior and maintain accurate, confidential records.
  • Explain procedures clearly and provide supportive guidance throughout the intake process.

Experience

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Training in industry-standard clinical assessment tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to working with diverse populations.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $1,500.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Stockbridge, GA 30281
