Responsibilities:Your Daily Adventures Will Include:
- Care Champion: Oversee the psychiatric care of residents. Your leadership will help them navigate their path to wellness!
- Team Collaborator: Attend weekly Treatment Team Meetings and work closely with our amazing Medical Director, Clinical Director, and other treatment team members. Your insights will help shape the future of our clients!
- Documentation Dynamo: Keep everything organized by documenting patient encounters through weekly progress notes in our EMR system, as well as safety assessments and phone calls with parents. Your attention to detail will be your superpower!
- Utilization Review Rockstar: Assist with utilization reviews for clients and provide cross-coverage to the Psychiatry team when needed. Flexibility is key, and you’ll be the go-to person when the team needs support!
- Communication Guru: Maintain excellent communication with other clinical team members, outpatient providers, and family members. You’ll be the bridge that connects everyone!
- Discharge Specialist: Complete discharge recommendation assessments as part of collaborative discharge summaries within 24 hours. Your timely input will ensure smooth transitions for our clients!
- Collaborative Environment: Work in a dynamic team setting, maintaining the requirements of Physician Collaborative Agreements, if applicable. Together, we can achieve great things!

An individual’s pay rate within the posted range is determined by several factors, including skills, experience, education, and market conditions. Additionally, we consider internal equity to ensure fairness within our organization.
- Doctorate in Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
- Board Certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry preferred, Board Certification in General/Adult Psychiatry required.
- Experience in adolescent/young adult psychiatry required.
- Licensed in the State for which you are applying required.
- Active DEA licensure.
- Experience in a residential setting strongly preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned unit. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in Newport Healthcare’s policies and procedures.
