Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to meet students’ needs
- Help students set and work toward academic and career goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to promote student success
- Address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that may impact learning
- Promote mental health awareness and positive coping strategies
- Offer crisis intervention and emotional support when needed
- Connect students and families with community agencies and resources
- Advocate for student well-being, safety, and equitable access to services
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- State certification or licensure as a school counselor (if applicable)
- Experience working with youth in educational or counseling settings
- Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and counseling techniques
- Familiarity with CPS protocols and mandated reporting requirements
- Culturally responsive approach to working with diverse populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality
Additional Information:
Some evening or weekend availability may be required for school events or meetings.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70.00 per hour
