Details:
Position Type: Full-Time
Pay range: $49-$56+/hr; according to experience
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBA) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors exhibited by students.
- Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIP) based on the findings from the FBA, employing evidence-based strategies and techniques.
- Provide training and support to staff members on the effective implementation of behavior intervention plans, ensuring consistent and appropriate interventions.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans by systematically collecting and analyzing data on student behavior.
- Collaborate closely with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to ensure the student's unique needs are met and interventions are consistent across environments.
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering valuable input on the development of goals and objectives related to behavior management.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in behavior analysis, and share this knowledge with school staff members to foster continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities and challenging behaviors in a school setting preferred but not required.
- Exhibit exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies.
- Display a strong knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to special education and behavior management in schools.
