Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team in a hybrid capacity — primarily remote, with occasional on-site visits to our Shreveport, LA location as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling and a commitment to delivering high-quality, client-centered care. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, families, and individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges. The counselor will utilize evidence-based practices to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals.
Duties
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions addressing mental health concerns such as PTSD, addiction, grief, and behavioral challenges.
- Apply various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and dance therapy.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and management support for clients in acute situations.
- Offer direct support and case management for clients with developmental disabilities and those requiring special education services.
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, in line with HIPAA regulations.
- Facilitate family counseling sessions to improve communication and resolve conflicts within family systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in both inpatient and outpatient settings to ensure holistic care.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives aimed at advancing therapeutic practices in mental health.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent certification.
- Experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Familiarity with behavioral health practices, including applied behavior analysis and behavior management strategies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care protocols, and clinical documentation standards.
- Preferred experience working with children, geriatrics, individuals with autism, and those managing chronic pain.
- Proficiency in telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions is highly valued.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as psychopharmacology and gender issues counseling.
