This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, families, and individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges. The counselor will utilize evidence-based practices to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals.

Duties

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions addressing mental health concerns such as PTSD, addiction, grief, and behavioral challenges.
  • Apply various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and dance therapy.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and management support for clients in acute situations.
  • Offer direct support and case management for clients with developmental disabilities and those requiring special education services.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, in line with HIPAA regulations.
  • Facilitate family counseling sessions to improve communication and resolve conflicts within family systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals in both inpatient and outpatient settings to ensure holistic care.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives aimed at advancing therapeutic practices in mental health.

Requirements

  • Valid state licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Familiarity with behavioral health practices, including applied behavior analysis and behavior management strategies.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care protocols, and clinical documentation standards.
  • Preferred experience working with children, geriatrics, individuals with autism, and those managing chronic pain.
  • Proficiency in telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions is highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as psychopharmacology and gender issues counseling.

Why Join Us
Be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in clients’ lives through effective counseling services. This hybrid position offers the flexibility of remote work with the benefit of occasional in-person engagement at our Shreveport, LA office to strengthen collaboration and community connection.
