About Job

About Us

At Kritter Kare's Howliday Inn, our passion is creating joyful, memorable, and stimulating experiences for the dogs in our care. We believe enrichment isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a way to enhance a dog’s happiness, confidence, and well-being. We’re looking for a creative, hands-on, and marketing-minded Dog Enrichment Counselor to help us bring our vision to life.

Position Overview

This is not your typical kennel or pet care position. We’re looking for someone who will go beyond the basics—someone who dreams up engaging, themed activities, designs sensory play environments, and helps market these experiences to our community.

You’ll be part dog whisperer, part event planner, part content creator. If you can throw a “Pup-Tacular Beach Day” in the middle of winter and also snap an Instagram-worthy photo of a Great Dane in a sombrero, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan & Execute Enrichment Experiences:

Create engaging weekly and monthly activities that stimulate dogs mentally and physically.

  • Creative Environment Design:

Use our facility’s indoor and outdoor spaces to create sensory environments tailored to canine needs.

  • Collaborate & Brainstorm:

Work closely with our team to develop fresh, fun ideas for enrichment themes and events.

  • Budget Management:

Plan activities within an approved budget, sourcing materials creatively and cost-effectively.

  • Marketing & Social Media:

Photograph and/or film dogs participating in enrichment activities for social media, newsletters, and promotional campaigns.

  • Customer Engagement:

Share updates with pet parents and highlight their dogs’ experiences in a way that builds excitement and loyalty.

What We’re Looking For

  • Creative thinker with a flair for event planning or themed experiences
  • Comfort and skill with photography/videography (bonus if you have editing skills)
  • Strong social media awareness (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
  • Experience working with dogs in a professional or volunteer capacity
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage time and resources efficiently
  • Comfortable getting a little messy (mud, water, fur—this is dog life!)

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Opportunity to bring your creativity to life every day
  • Work with a team of dog-loving, fun-spirited individuals
  • Make a positive difference in the lives of dogs and their families
  • Our team gets paid weekly
  • Additional benefits for our full-time staff including medical, dental, vision, EAP, Health Savings Plan, etc.
  • Bonus opportunities based on meeting set goals
  • Employee discounts on pet services & you might be able to bring your own pup to work with you :-)
  • A supportive environment where your ideas are valued and encouraged
