About The Position

Job description



Job Title: Travel Social Worker – LMSW
Location: Anchorage, AK 99508
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Pay range: $1800-$2100 weekly (based on experience)
Schedule:



  • 8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

  • One position: Monday–Friday

  • One position: Friday–Monday

  • Occasional weekend coverage (rare)


Job Overview:


We are seeking a qualified Travel Social Worker (LMSW) for a 13-week assignment in Alaska. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, discharge planning experience, and be proficient with EPIC and MIDAS electronic medical records. Must be comfortable covering all units, including ER and Mother/Baby, and participating in multidisciplinary team rounds.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Assess patients' social situations and needs

  • Develop and document care plans accordingly

  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds focused on discharge planning

  • Provide rotational coverage in ER, Mother/Baby, and other units

  • Function as an independent self-starter, yet collaborate when needed

  • Exercise creativity and adaptability to address unique challenges in Alaska


Requirements:



  • Education: Master's Degree in Social Work or equivalent

  • Licensure: Active LMSW license in the state of Alaska (required)

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital social work

  • Must have experience with EPIC and MIDAS

  • Caseload Ratio: 1:8

  • Must secure housing and transportation prior to assignment start

  • Must be adaptable, professional, and solution-focused


Additional Information:



  • Dress Code: Scrubs or business casual

  • On-call: None

  • Floating: Required across all hospital units

  • Work Environment: Fast-paced hospital setting with a focus on patient-centered care
