Saint Luke's Hospice and Hospice House are seeking a well-rounded, passionate, responsible, and reliable Music Therapist to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The Music Therapist must be flexible, organized, detail oriented, dependable, independent, creative, have excellent communication and documentation skills, willing to learn, professional, and ready to work as a team player. Shift Details: Monday-Friday 8-hour shift (8am 5pm). Occasional need for flexibility (could potentially need to work at our annual children's grief camp, and participate in our Celebration of Life Services)
The Work: Music Therapy supports the patient and overall plan of care to optimize their treatments and goals, providing emotional support for patients and their families providing an outlet for expression of feelings.
- Provide music therapy consultation and services to the patient and or family in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Assess the strengths and needs of referred patients and provide the indicated treatment including creating, singing, moving to and or listening to music.
- Services are provided in accordance with established American Music Therapists Association standards.
- Periodically re-evaluate the patient to determine effectiveness of interventions and contribute to discharge planning as applicable.
- Delegate and instruct supportive personnel in services to be provided and perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in music therapy and a minimum of two (2) years of experience.
- Must be a Board-Certified Music Therapist.
- Must have knowledge of specific age-appropriate mental health care needs of patients and their families.
- Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Basic Life Support (will train)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
