A school district in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a qualified School Psychologist for an elementary school setting on a contract basis for the new school year. This role provides essential psychological services to support students academic, emotional, and behavioral development within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for students to identify learning needs and disabilities
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and administration to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention for students facing emotional or behavioral challenges
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute expert insights on student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to confidentiality and ethical guidelines
Qualifications:
- Valid school psychologist certification or licensure as required by the state of Connecticut
- Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and intervention skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Knowledge of special education laws and procedures
