EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Counsels students in regards to course selection and academic progress.-Counsels students regarding post-secondary plans; i.e. college/vocational school choices; career options and employment.-Assists students with all procedures related to post-secondary planning.-Counsels students regarding personal/social issues.-Works cooperatively with families to provide an environment in which self-esteem, responsibility and achievement will thrive.-Develops and maintains peer counseling strategies where appropriate.-Contributes to, and maintains, the on-going communication network between students, parents, teachers, and administrators, by writing student references, working with colleges, social agencies, etc.-Contributes to, and maintains, department-related procedures and functions.
