Quality Assurance Manager
AquaPhoenix Scientific is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) to manage quality control, assurance strategies, improvement programs within the Company’s overall Quality Management System (QMS). Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the QAM is responsible for implementing and managing quality assurance processes and systems to ensure the highest product/service standards. This role involves developing quality metrics, working cross-functionally with other departments, and driving compliance with internal and external quality standards.

The Quality Assurance Manager is a full-time, exempt position with full company-sponsored benefits and requires an in-office presence in our Hanover, PA headquarters.
Although not all inclusive, the ideal candidate in this role will have experience in implementing, training and monitoring quality procedures and practices to ensure products and processes are compliant with company, ISO, and customer expectations. Requires a thorough understanding of ISO 9001, AS 9100, or ISO 13485 standards, as well as experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and managing third-party audits. Must have the ability to effectively interact and communicate with department leadership, regulatory agencies, customers, and vendors.
Other position responsibilities and standards include:
- Deliver and drive a quality-first culture and operational excellence across the organization.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the quality management system (QMS).
- Optimizing document management, training, and preparation for site audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer expectations.
- Follow procedures to evaluate products, production equipment and operational processes to ensure finished goods adhere to quality, safety, and customer standards.
- Utilize and lead the CAPA process to identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues, working closely with department leadership to implement appropriate resolutions.
- Conduct routine and non-routine quality inspections of in-process raw materials, products, and finished goods and verify that each conform to quality standards and required customer specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering, production operations, suppliers and customers to bring resolutions to quality concerns and gaps.
- Serve as on-site resource and mentor providing guidance for quality and regulatory inquiries and concerns. Elevate heightened concerns as necessary to Director of Quality and/or senior management.
- Inspect product returns as directed to analyze defects and document results. Compile data, present outcomes, and work with cross-functional teams to develop solutions.
- Ability to proactively act upon and resolve customer/vender quality inquiries; communicate with a high level of urgency and understanding.
Qualifications
AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Quality Assurance Manager will frequently have a combined education and/or work experience that is a minimum of a high school diploma and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Operations, Chemistry, or related field; or equivalent work experience in quality control or quality assurance role in a manufacturing setting.
Other qualifications and attributes include:
- Familiarity and knowledge of ISO9001 standards, Lean manufacturing, and Kanban initiatives.
- Proficiency in quality management software, tools, and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, 5 Whys, Six Sigma).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehend English language with the ability to communicate through reading, speaking, and writing.
- Exceptional computer skills related to spreadsheets, word processing and ERP systems.
- High degree of attention to detail with an understanding of financial profitability, production operations, and business acumen.
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work and perform tasks through to completion.
- Able to communicate and work professionally with a diverse group of internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate initiative for ongoing professional development and keep abreast of industry standards and changes through publications and training.
