Social Work Supervisor
Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada (CCNN) is seeking an experienced Social Work Supervisor to oversee its broad Human Service offerings. In response to the rapidly changing service landscape, Catholic Charities is re-evaluating how best to meet the needs of those seeking assistance. This position will work with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Operating Officer to redefine and realign existing services, defining and implementing policies and procedures, in alignment with the mission and vision of CCNN and its strategic plan adopted in January 2025. This position will directly supervise Social Workers, Community Health Workers, and Case Managers in alignment with the NASW Code of Ethics stated values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. The first priority of this position will to be assume day-to-day leadership of the Elevating Families program which is in a state of leadership transition. The position will evolve once the needs of this program are addressed.

Broad Responsibilities of this position include:
- Supervision and Guidance:
Overseeing the work of social workers, providing clinical guidance, and ensuring adherence to professional standards and agency policies.
- Case Management:
Reviewing and approving case plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring appropriate interventions are provided.
- Training and Development:
Identifying training needs, delivering or coordinating training sessions, and fostering professional growth among staff.
- Performance Management:
Evaluating staff performance, providing constructive feedback, and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
- Administrative Duties:
Developing and implementing effective social work programs that align with organizational goals.
Monitoring program outcomes and making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
Managing administrative tasks related to case management, documentation, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies.
Participate in budgeting and resource allocation for social work programs.
- Liaison and Collaboration:
Fostering and Maintaining positive, productive communication with Senior Leadership, all other CCNN departments, external agencies, and stakeholders.
- Ethical Practice:
Ensuring ethical conduct, confidentiality, and adherence to professional standards.
- Problem Solving:
Addressing complex or escalated cases, providing guidance, and developing solutions.
Analyzing and resolving complex social work situations and make sound recommendations consistent with social work principles and departmental/agency policies
- Team Building:
Fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment that reflects alignment with appropriate professional boundaries
Essential Skills:
- Clinical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of social work theories, treatment modalities, and best practices.
- Supervisory Skills:
Ability to lead, motivate, and guide a team, providing effective feedback and support.
- Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with staff across all levels and departments, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to assess situations, identify solutions, and make sound decisions. Regular preparation and analysis of reports pertaining to each social service program, including guiding improvement in the use of client/service tracking database systems, reports and dashboards.
- Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records.
- Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to build rapport with clients, direct reports, and senior leadership/administration built on trust, transparency, healthy interpersonal and intrapersonal dynamics and collaboration. Ideal candidates bring a positive, pro-active attitude and demonstrate proven experience navigating complex situations in a way that inspires growth and resiliency.
- Ethical Reasoning:
Strong understanding of ethical principles and the ability to apply them in practice.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or equivalent licensure.
- Significant experience in social work practice, typically 5+ years.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Specific experience related to the population or practice area of the supervisees. Catholic Charities largest service populations include families living in generational poverty, seniors, individuals navigating post-incarceration challenges, and unsheltered individuals, often chronically, who typically have mental health and/or substance use considerations.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
