ABOUT OPEN SPACE CCW + A NOTE ON WHERE WE ARE NOW:

This isn't your typical job post. And we're not your typical practice right now.

Open Space CCW was founded in 2018 with a vision of creating a safe, inclusive, and progressive space where people can move from merely surviving to truly thriving--for both our providers and our clients. We created a safe space for affirming, equity-rooted mental health care that never asks anyone to shrink or mask to belong. We are advocates, and practice from an anti-oppressive framework, which means we call out bullsh!t when we see it and work to disrupt systems that are harmful.

Open Space CCW grew fast, hit a leadership crisis, dismantled, and chose to rebuild with radical intentionality. In that reset we asked, “If we could design private practice from scratch, what would actually work—for clients and providers?”

The answer: A 1099 multidisciplinary wellness hub where therapists, body-workers, dietitians, acupuncturists, prescribers, and other healers share space, systems, and a relentless commitment to anti-oppressive care. A model that mixes solo-practice freedom with the kind of infrastructure, coaching, and values alignment you can’t find anywhere else in Pittsburgh or across the state of

Pennsylvania.

Our Mission Stays The Same

Eliminate fear of judgment as a barrier to personal growth and wellness, and ensure a safe space for affirming, equity-rooted care that never asks anyone to shrink or mask to belong.

Our Model, However, Is New

Independent contractors

  • High-touch business mentorship
  • A suite full of unapologetically affirming providers who share your values and your passion.

If You Want To Better Understand Where We've Been, Where We're Headed, And Why This Might Be The Most Meaningful Time To Join Our Team, We Encourage You To Visit Our Careers Page

—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why This Model Is Different

Across the state of Pennsylvania, you’ll mostly find 2 models:

  • Traditional W2 Model
  • Traditional 1099 Model

We’ve Created a Third Model

1099 + Built-in, immersive, business mentorship & coaching

(*Note: Being a budding entrepreneur is not a requirement! If you just want to be a 'normal 1099', that's totally cool, too!)

We can’t possibly outline all of the ways we support you in this job posting–but we’re going to try and give you a succinct list here. (Head to our Careers page at www.openspaceccw.com/careers to see more details!)

  • Early-Onboarding Perks (Free & optional–but you’ll want them!)
  • Insurance Credentialing? Done-for-you.
  • Brand, Voice + Ideal Client Discovery–including drafting a high-converting Psychology Today profile and an SEO-optimized bio for the Open Space site—ready for your tweaks or thumbs-up.)
  • We Start Marketing You–Right away

No more Googling, guessing, or doing it alone. We start building–together–from day one.

  • 1-3 Day Business Onboarding Intensive

This in-person (or virtual, if you prefer) 1–3 day Business Onboarding Intensive is designed to take all the scary, piecemeal parts of starting a business and make them simple, strategic, and fully customized to you. Before you ever see your first client, we’ll set up the structure, systems, and support you need to launch with confidence—not chaos.

  • Banking & Business Setup
  • Profit First Model for Therapists
  • Systems, Scheduling & Intake Flow
  • Malpractice Insurance–Get step-by-step support securing your own malpractice insurance, including what to look for, how to apply, and which options are most commonly used by private practice clinicians.
  • Health Insurance–If you need health insurance, don’t panic. We’ll walk you through the Healthcare Marketplace, demystify the process, and help you explore plans that make sense for your income and needs. (And it’s more affordable than you may think!)
  • Pricing, Time Off, & Guilt-Free Boundaries–Set a fee structure that supports your financial goals and sustainability, talk through how to develop your ideal schedule that supports whatever season of life you are in, and learn how to take time off without guilt or panic.

No fluff. No overwhelm. Just clarity, systems, and real support.

  • Built-In Business Coaching & Strategy Support

You know therapy. But grad school never taught you how to run a business, manage your income, set scheduling and financial boundaries without straying from your values, or price your worth.

That’s why this level of support exists. Built-in coaching gives you regular access to strategy, structure, and sanity—without having to go searching or spiral alone.

When something doesn’t feel aligned or sustainable, we’ll brainstorm ideas, rework your schedule, talk through mindset spirals, map out offerings, walk through your numbers step-by-step—without shame or jargon.

  • 1:1 Business Coaching with Sam
  • Monthly Group Coaching
  • In-Person Strategy Days (as needed)
  • Shared Google Calendar–Preloaded with important dates and suggestions
  • Full Access to the Business Strategy Vault–Access our full vault of templates, systems, scripts, and strategy tools via your portal—because your dream business deserves more than DIY duct tape.
  • Growth & Visionary Support

No gatekeeping. No guesswork. Just hype-girl energy, a real-time partner, and strategy that actually moves you forward and helps you build the kind of business that works for you.

  • Office Space

You—and your clients—deserve a space where your business and your nervous system can breathe. You’ve worked in offices and been in business spaces where you couldn’t exhale. Where the waiting room didn’t feel safe. Where staff didn’t ‘get’ your clients—or

you.

No more wondering if your colleagues are safe. No more sidestepping microaggressions in the name of “professionalism.”

Here, we screen for alignment.

We center justice.

We protect each other.

  • Shared Therapy Office–With smart systems to ensure no double-booking drama
  • Waiting Room–Stocked with free coffee, tea, and water, and only clients of other affirming providers
  • Provider-Only Kitchen & Lounge Area–With a separate client-free entrance
  • Multi-Purpose (Super Chill) Group Room
  • Reserved Employee Parking–And right on the bus line
  • Secure Building Entry + 24/7 Access

No awkward room swaps. No “Where am I supposed to go?”

Just smart systems, cozy and affirming spaces, and a setup that supports your flow.

  • Collective Safety. Shared Values. Unmatched Impact.

In a time where safety is especially under attack, this place is a protective, powerful collective.

We’re not just renting out office space. We build intentional containers for healing—for providers and clients alike. Every provider under this roof has been intentionally chosen because they understand what it means to hold space with integrity.

  • Screened for Alignment–Every provider here is vetted for shared values, a commitment to deeply affirming work, and a no-bullsh!t approach to inclusion that goes beyond checkbox allyship. We’re not interested in tolerance—we demand alignment.
  • A Building That Gets Your Clients–Your clients don’t have to brace themselves walking into the waiting room. From intake to exit, your clients are met with affirming care—not confusion or fear.
  • We Don’t Do Neutrality Here–We name harm. We call in. We don’t stay silent to keep the peace. We don’t “agree to disagree” about rights, identities, or safety.

No mask-wearing. No shrinking. No dodging microaggressions.

Just space to show up fully, and do the work you love to do–without worrying about safety and harm.

  • We're not just building a therapy practice—we're evolving into a multidisciplinary wellness space where affirming, social justice–aligned providers across specialties can thrive together under one roof.
