About Job
Join Our Team as a Foster Care Coordinator!
Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional with a passion for helping children and families? Childhelp is seeking a Foster Care Coordinator to provide crucial support and guidance to children in state custody and their foster families.
In this role, you will be the central point of contact for the children in our care, their biological parents, foster parents, and other essential stakeholders like DCFS workers, court staff, and therapists. You'll play a vital role in ensuring these children receive the services they need—from medical and educational support to behavioral health and psychiatric care—in a safe and nurturing home environment. Your primary goal will be to help children and families achieve permanency and stability.
What You'll Do:
As a Foster Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
Case Management & Advocacy: Advocate for the best interests of children and families by developing comprehensive, individualized service plans, coordinating community resources, and ensuring all services are delivered in a timely manner.
Direct Support: Conduct regular home and face-to-face visits with children and families to provide ongoing support, crisis intervention, and guidance on behavioral management and mental health issues.
Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all case notes, assessments, incident reports, and other required documentation are completed accurately and on time, maintaining compliance with DCFS state policies and COA standards.
Collaboration: Attend court hearings, treatment team meetings, and other child-related meetings. You will also build and maintain professional relationships with community agencies to support the children and families in your care.
What We're Looking For:
A master's degree or equivalent, or a bachelor's degree with a minimum of one year of casework experience. (The casework experience can be substituted with 27 quarter hours in behavioral sciences like social work, psychology, or sociology.)
A clear three-tier background check is required.
If you are a proactive and empathetic professional who can provide crisis intervention and support to children and families in need, we encourage you to apply. This is a chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
Are you ready to help us create brighter futures? Apply today to become a part of the Childhelp team.
