Salary: $95,991.00 - $105,454.00/year (with potential growth up to $154,928.00/year)

Main Purpose of the Job:

The primary responsibility of the Psychologist II will be to conduct comprehensive psychological risk assessments for incarcerated individuals, particularly those serving life sentences. These assessments are integral to the Commission's parole determinations, and your clinical insights will directly inform decisions that affect individual futures and public safety. This position will work with a diverse and often complex population, offering a stimulating environment for psychologists with strong assessment skills and a commitment to ethical, evidence-based practice.

Position Duties:

The primary duties of this role include:

  • Conducting in-depth clinical interviews with incarcerated individuals
  • Reviewing a wide array of documentation, including base files, Offender Case Management System (OCMS) records, Electronic Patient History Records (EPHR), and Maryland Judiciary Case Search records
  • Administering and interpreting a range of validated psychological assessment instruments, including but not limited to:
  • Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R)
  • Personality Assessment Inventory - Corrections Scale (PAI-CS)
  • Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale - Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV)
  • Level of Community Supervision Framework - Revised (LCSF-R)
  • Stay abreast of developments in the field by attending relevant continuing education (CE) programs and maintaining active licensure as a psychologist in the state of Maryland

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists.

Experience: Two years of experience rendering psychological services or engaged in psychological research after receipt of the Psychologist license.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Clinical Psychology classifications or Psychology specialty codes in the Psychology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
