What Youll Do:
- Serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Medical Services for the hospital.
- Provides leadership, direction, management, and supervision of the Medical Staff.
- Monitors facility-wide medical and psychiatric services to ensure appropriateness for the patient population.
- Advises the Facility Director/CEO on clinical and administrative matters, with a focus on:
- Patient management
- Quality of care
- Risk management issues
- Contributes to facility-wide program development.
What Were Looking For:
- A strong background in general psychiatry.
- A genuine interest in geriatric mental health.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse healthcare professionals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved/accredited medical school.
- Completion of a psychiatric residency program.
- Current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Current federal license to prescribe medications.
- Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Prior clinical experience in a behavioral health hospital required.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and utilization review functions.
