At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare, well-being benefits, paid family leave as well as generous paid time off. Total Rewards also include banking perks, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K plan with company match and may include the opportunity to participate in our Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation plan. Incentives and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
Salary Range: $63,200 - $85,400 annually
Position Summary
The Portfolio Implementation Analyst position is responsible for implementing and monitoring portfolio investment plans, routine and daily account administration, and researching/analyzing more complex client issues with help from the portfolio management team. The Analyst may also assist with some aspects of investment research and participate with some client meetings. This position is an individual contributor role.
Primary Accountabilities
- Executes investment plans for client investment portfolios with a primary focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitors accounts on a day-to-day basis to identify opportunities for review and trading, ensuring alignment with the investment plans determined by the Advisor and/or Portfolio Manager.
- Leads the rebalancing process for accounts tracking internal investment model strategies.
- Identifies constraints within the portfolio management software and proactively proposes scalable solutions.
- Collaborates with the investment research team to discuss optimal methods for implementing evolving investment strategies.
- Works closely with the client facing Advisors, Portfolio Managers, and Trust Officers to ensure seamless implementation of accounts in line with client discussions.
- Monitors individual fixed income accounts to facilitate the reinvestment of maturities.
- Assists with monitoring and managing accounts in various composites for performance tracking.
- Monitors corporate actions and collaborates with the investment team to determine the appropriate course of action.
- Assists the portfolio management team in completing Regulation 9 reviews for specified accounts.
- Strictly adheres to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Bank and regulatory standards.
- May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or finance related studies.
- 3+ years of related professional experience.
- Previous experience in wealth or investment management is a plus.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
