At Inner Valor, we provide specialized marine security for yacht cruises, ensuring a safe and secure experience for passengers and crew. We are seeking professional and vigilant Security Officers to oversee access control and onboard security for yacht and river cruise operations in downtown Chicago.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct security screenings before boarding, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

  • Monitor passenger activity during cruises, preventing disturbances and safety risks.

  • Patrol deck and interior areas to maintain a visible security presence.

  • Respond immediately to security incidents, emergencies, or medical situations.

  • Assist with emergency evacuation procedures and work closely with crew members.

  • Ensure adherence to maritime security and safety protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent situational awareness.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in marine environments.

  • Reliable transportation to downtown Chicago marina locations.

  • Must pass a background check and security screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PERC card & 20-hour Basic Security Training certification.

  • Illinois BASSETT certification (preferred for security roles in licensed venues)

  • Prior experience in marine security or event security.

  • Basic knowledge of maritime safety procedures.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).

Physical & Mental Requirements:

With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and patrolling on moving vessels, including climbing stairs and walking on wet or uneven surfaces.

  • Ability to adapt to motion while working on a boat, including stability and balance during choppy water conditions.

  • Being on the water for extended periods of time, sometimes in varying weather conditions.

  • Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling to conduct inspections or respond to emergencies.

  • Clear vision and hearing to monitor surroundings, respond to security threats, and communicate effectively in noisy environments.

  • Ability to speak clearly and give instructions in emergency situations.

  • Capacity to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 pounds frequently, with occasional movement of up to 25 pounds.

  • Tolerance for outdoor exposure to sun, wind, and water spray for long durations.



Compensation details: 20-23 Hourly Wage
