JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Licensed Counselor (LISW, LPC, LPCC)
SUPERVISOR: Director of Behavioral Health

- JOB SUMMARY: Conducts assessment and counseling services to clients and families of CAA. Provides mental health services for CAA clients. Works toward prevention and treatment of mental health disorders.
- SPECIFIC DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to CAA clients who have been referred by their medical providers or other professional staff at CAA
- Assists other mental health staff in treatment of our clients, both individually and in group. This will also include case discussion, collaboration and planning. This may require sessions with the clients at CAA, hospital or school visits or other participating agency.
- Provides collaboration, coordination and consultation on an ongoing basis with CAA’s professional staff who provide primary and preventative care
- Performs telephone triage of health center clients in accordance with health center protocols and/or provider direction
- Provides guidance to health center’s clerical and nursing staff as credentials permit
- Follows CAA policies/procedures, including current HIPAA regulations and Ohio Scope of Practice guidelines
- Provides direct client care in accordance with health center policies/procedures and provider’s orders and within the scope of training, certification and licensure
- Prepares and completes client charts and other required client care documentation and reports as required by health center policy/procedure/protocol and as assigned
- Maintains medical records regarding client information, treatment plans, and screening tools as required
- Participates in performance improvement activities, collaborations and committees as assigned
- Cross-trains with other health center staff as assigned
- Participates in health fairs and community outreach programs as assigned
- Maintains a presence in the community for CAA and the behavioral health program
- Travel required for trainings, CME opportunities, satellite sites, etc.
- Maintains compliance with all laws, regulations and policies as defined by Federal, State and any other regulatory body
- Participates in rotating on-call for CAA Behavioral Health clients
- Other duties as assigned
- REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters in social work, counseling, or related clinical field with at least 2 years of experience
- Licensed in the state of Ohio to practice
- LISW, LPC, LPCC or comparable degree
- Demonstrates expertise in clinical areas needed to diagnose and treat CAA clients
- Annual CMEs as required to maintain licensure/certification
- ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 1-2 years of experience in health care is preferred
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of behavioral health care
- Ability to identify and counsel at-risk clients
- Ability to elicit client participation and understanding
- Ability to work collaboratively and as a team member of the Behavioral Health Services department in cooperation with medical providers
- Background check including Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Medicare exclusion list, verification of valid driver’s license, employment medical exam, including a TB test, adherence to all CAA policies/procedures and requirements of all funding sources. CAA is a drug/alcohol-free and smoke-free workplace and post-offer drug and alcohol testing is required.

- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to push, pull, carry, lift, bend, twist, reach, sit, stand for lengthy periods of time; ability to walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and often high-stress environment as well as the ability to adapt quickly to workload changes
- Ability to deal with inside and outside clientele in a diplomatic and courteous manner while assuring adherence to CAA policies/procedures
- Above-average oral, reading and writing skills to accurately operate a computer, perform necessary documentation and effectively communicate with staff, clients, customers, business partners, other CAA departments and visitors

SALARY: FLSA CLASSIFICATION:
Dependent upon qualifications and experience Hourly, non-exempt/ Salaried, exempt
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
