About Job

Bethany College, a nationally recognized liberal arts institution nestled in the hills of northern West Virginia, is seeking a motivated and student-focused Enrollment Counselor to join our Enrollment team. This is a full-time, 12-month position with a competitive benefits package and reports directly to the Vice President of Enrollment.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a recruitment territory and build relationships with prospective students and families through email, phone, text, and personal outreach.
  • Serve as the liaison for specialized programs such as E-Sports, Equestrian, Band, Choir, and Theater.
  • Guide students through the admissions process, including campus visits, basic financial aid and scholarship counseling, and file completion.
  • Conduct campus tours and presentations during daily visits and admissions events.
  • Review applications and make recommendations for admission decisions.
  • Represent Bethany College at high school visits, college fairs, and community events.
  • Build relationships with high school guidance counselors, community organizations, and coaches.
  • Use CRM and SIS systems (Element451 and Colleague) to track engagement and student progress.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a seamless experience for prospective students.
  • Participate in on-campus events such as Open Houses, Admitted Student Days, and Orientation.
  • Travel and work evenings or weekends as needed to support recruitment efforts.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in college admissions, student services, or related fields preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new systems and software.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
