Positive Leaps is seeking a Child Behavior Specialist with a bachelor's in Social Work and a license (BSW/LSW) who can provide a safe and therapeutic environment for children in accordance with the philosophy and mission of Positive Leaps. Experience with children and adolescents is ideal but not mandatory as we provide training!
Our private practice offers autonomy and independence while maintaining a sense of community, and our Mindfully Academy provides training opportunities in different modalities and specializations, such as DBT, EMDR, Child/Adolescent, SUD, Couples/IFS/Emotion Focused/Gottman and much more.
Hours: Full-time, day shifts.

Sign-on Bonus:
- $250 after 90 days
- $500 at 1 year anniversary

Essential Duties:
- Provides a safe, structured learning environment.
- Responsible for directing and organizing classroom resources to achieve excellent clinical outcomes. When assigned to a classroom
- Interact with children, families, and other staff members in a professional, positive manner.
- Individual sessions with clients
- Complete threat assessments with clients.
- Exhibits flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing therapeutic environment.
- Implements Positive Leaps model of care and curriculum.
- Implements treatment goals and objectives as developed by Program Coordinator.
- Prepares, updates, and maintains documentation and children's clinical data.
- Collects data related to treatment goals and objectives.
- Communicates treatment progress and other relevant information to Supervisor.
- Consistently meets performance measures including competency indicators.
- Demonstrates effective classroom organization skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to provide essential feedback to others including peers and Supervisors.
- Shows strong leadership skills and assists with other classroom needs as they arise.
- Must be able to work with all ages of children.
- Documentation and billing:
- Complies with Ohio laws.
- Complies with requirements of 3rd party payers.
- Complies with all Positive Leaps policies and procedures for clinical documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work
- Social Worker License - Ohio
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Must be able to work with all ages of children.
- Flu vaccination (unless a valid religious or medical exemption is documented).
- CPR/First Aid Certification within 3 weeks of start date.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a very active environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass a vigorous background check.
Exposures and Risks:
- Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Works directly with physically aggressive children.
- Exposed to loud noise, such as repeated and prolonged screaming and crying.
