Rivanna Counseling is a well-established, collaborative group practice located in historic Charlottesville, Virginia. We are currently seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapist (MSW) who is working toward clinical licensure and interested in joining a team that values professional growth, clinical excellence, and work-life balance.

Position Summary:

This position is ideal for a clinician who has completed their MSW and is starting, or in the process of earning, supervised client hours for licensure in Virginia. You’ll have the opportunity to build your caseload in a flexible, supportive environment while receiving clinical supervision from experienced, licensed professionals. If you are already working in the community and are seeking to add a few clients in the late afternoon or early evening, we'd love to hear from you, too!

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual therapy to a diverse population of older adolescents (age 16+) and adults
• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards using provided EHR
• Attend weekly clinical supervision (provided by Rivanna Counseling)
• Participate in team meetings, peer consultation, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Currently pre-licensed in Virginia (MSW or equivalent) and working toward licensure
• Strong interpersonal, clinical, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
• Commitment to ethical, client-centered care and ongoing professional growth
