Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team in a school setting. As a Behavioral Specialist, you will work with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, providing patient care and implementing behavioral health strategies. Your role will involve conducting patient assessments, collecting data, and assisting with diagnostic evaluations. Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments to gather information about behavioral health needs
- Implement behavioral strategies and interventions to support individuals with autism and developmental disabilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans
- Collect data on patient progress and behavior using standardized tools
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations and contribute to the development of treatment goals
- Provide direct patient care, including implementing behavior plans and teaching adaptive skills
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care
- Stay current on best practices in behavioral health and special education
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health
- Strong assessment skills and ability to develop individualized treatment plans
- Proficient in data collection and analysis techniques
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
