We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction medicine and clinical counseling, providing support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role involves conducting individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques, and implementing behavioral therapy strategies to promote recovery and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support clients in their recovery journey.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients and facilitate positive behavioral changes.
- Implement evidence-based practices in addiction medicine and behavioral therapy to address clients' needs.
- Collect and maintain accurate data on client progress, treatment plans, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within a hospital setting to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Provide behavior management strategies to help clients develop coping skills and manage triggers effectively.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in clinical counseling, addiction medicine, and relevant ICD-9 coding practices.
Experience
- A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
- Previous experience in addiction counseling or clinical settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing, individual group counseling techniques, and behavioral therapy is essential.
- Knowledge of data collection methods and ICD-9 coding is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
