POSITION TITLE: Behavior Interventionist

GROUP: School and Community Based Services

SUPERVISOR: Assistant Director of JJAEP

POSITION FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting teachers in maintaining a controlled classroom environment that is conducive for learning. Provides behavioral intervention and coordinates intervention efforts for student’s academic, behavioral, social, and family needs. Ensures that all students have the opportunity to be successful by teaching and demonstrating problem solving and decision making skills using the classroom behavior management program, Boys Town Model®.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or other related field preferred. Experience working with at-risk youth preferred. Broad knowledge of community resources. Other qualifications include:

  • Excellent human relations ability
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Possess good judgment and decision making
  • Able to remain calm during crisis situations
  • Promotes an environment of cultural competency and responsiveness for students, families, staff, and collaborative partners

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $43,000.00 per year
