Summary of Position
Administer psychological counseling for CTC students and employees. Counseling services can include but not be limited to drug and alcohol, PTSD, depression and anxiety, and other short-term counseling training; and health and wellness support for students, faculty, and staff as needed. The counselor will also assist with programming, workshops, and group counseling/ support that the Student & Employee Assistance Program (SEAP) and Student Success and Persistence (SSP) coordinate.

Minimum Required Education
Master’s Degree from a US regionally or nationally accredited institution of higher learning in psychology, counseling, social work or related field is required. Must have an LPC, LCSW or LMSW license.

Minimum Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years professional work experience in an educational, healthcare or social services agency. Prefer 2 years of experience working as a counselor in a similar setting (college, mental health clinic, rehabilitation center, social service agency). Related volunteer experience will be considered.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with students, colleagues, and employees of Central Texas College, and the community at large.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability and willingness to work with a high energy level with flexibility and as a team member.
  • Ability to conduct group and individual sessions under the supervision of the Director. Ability to inspire a campus-wide commitment to wellness and mental health of faculty, staff, and students in the planning, promotion, execution, and evaluation of programs and support services.
  • Ability to develop an awareness of the operations and functions of other offices and services of CTC so that adequate and cohesive communication may be established.
  • The counselor must have initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness in fulfilling work assignments and commit to long-range program improvement.

Hours
Full-time, indicate working hours - Mon-Thu 7:30-5:30 Fri 7:30-11:30
