About Job

Overview
We are seeking a well-organized and detailed oriented person to coordinate Home Care Services for our agency. This position may also require filling in for Aides when they are out for PTO. Our Home Care Aides assist the elderly in maintaining their own homes and providing essential services to them in their homes for as long as possible. Including, but not limited to, housekeeping, shopping, respite care, heavy housework, personal care, medical escort transportation and record keeping.

Responsibilities

  • HOUSEKEEPING:
  • Dust furniture
  • Sweep
  • Wash Dishes
  • Vacuum
  • Clean bathroom and kitchen
  • Wash Dishes
  • Laundry
  • Prepare Meals
  • Change Beds

SHOPPING:

  • Groceries
  • Medication
  • Other Essentials

RESPITE CARE:

  • Services as provided for an individual to relieve the normal care giver, up to 8 hours a day. May do other Homecare duties listed herein under this type of agreement.

HEAVY HOUSEKEEPING:

  • Wash windows
  • Shampoo carpets
  • Clean oven
  • Clean refrigerator
  • Wash woodwork
  • Mop and wax floors
  • Take down, wash and rehang curtains
  • Wash walls
  • Clean blinds

PERSONAL CARE:

  • Routine bathing
  • Feeding
  • Hair care
  • Apply lotion
  • Shaving for men
  • Helping with toileting needs
  • Identify and report health needs to case manager
  • Exercise as appropriate
  • Meal preparation
  • Changing of diapers and bed pads

MEDICAL ESCORT TRANSPORTATION:

  • Drive to transport clients to and from medical appointments as requested by the case manager and assigned by the program supervisor. This includes staying with the clients and assisting them with entry into the medical facility and/or the registration process.

RECORD KEEPING:

  • Detailed records of work and activities performed.
  • Document a brief summary of how you found the client during each visit and note any significant changes in their physical, mental or emotional condition
  • Attend staff meetings and training as required
  • Assist with agency fund raising activities as requested
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

Physical Demands/Effort:

  • Must be able to help a participant with walking, toileting, and eating
  • Must be able to lift or move 25 pounds and/or support the weight of the participant
  • Must be able to walk, stand, reach, stretch, bend, crouch, kneel or crawl as needed
  • Ability to use hands to hold, finger and feel
  • Due to the safety of the participants must have at least l 5db hearing at all frequencies; understandable speech, at least 20/40 corrected near and distant vision, normal peripheral vision and functional depth perception

Hours: Varied according to the needs of the agency, Part time 20-24 hours per week
