    DESCRIPTION: Care for kindergarten through fifth grade students in the BOOST Before/After School Program. Develop, plan, and implement recreational and scholastic programs. Supervise, schedule, and assist in evaluating Before/After Child Care Program Leaders and aids, and oversee entire program. Collect fees, and maintain state child care licensure. Ensure a safe, healthy, and secure environment for children.

    SALARY: Classified Grade T, $27.44 - $33.83 per hour based on previous experience, 7.5 hours per day Tuesday through Friday, 30 hours per week. Hours are a hybrid between working at the school during program hours, and remote work for office hours, depending on need. 9 month work schedule, paid over 12 months. Eligible for benefits.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Supervise students in a child care environment, ensuring a safe, healthy, and secure environment.
    • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate program staff , in cooperation with Coordinator.
    • Develop, plan, and prepare recreational and academic activities for the program.
    • Purchase, prepare, and provide nutritional snacks and enforce good hygiene during snack times.
    • Purchase, inventory, maintain, and replace age-appropriate materials for the children, including supplies, books, recreational equipment, etc.
    • Assess fees, bill, and collect funds from parents. Record collections and distribute funds to the budget.
    • Attend monthly meetings with staff to plan and evaluate activities and student assessments. Also, attend monthly Manger meetings with Coordinator.
    • Update state licensing regulations and conduct yearly inspections with the coordinator.
    • Assist with the developing of Parent Handbook and any other written material for distribution that promotes the program.
    • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • In addition, must have completed at least one of the following qualifications:
    • A 4-year college degree with major such as recreation, education with a specialty in art, elementary or early childhood education, or a subject in Human service field.
    • A two-year college training and 6 months of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time, paid or volunteer, experience, since attaining the age of 18, in the care/supervision of 4 or more children.
    • Three years of satisfactory/verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time. Paid or volunteer, experience, since attaining the age of 18, in the care/supervision of 4 or more children. The program director must complete 6 semester hours, 9 quarter hours in course work which must be in child growth/development and be from an accredited college or university, or 40 clock hours of training in course work (child growth/development) applicable to school-age children within the first 9 months of employment.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: First Aid, CPR, universal precautions, and medication administration certifications.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years of experience in child care or recreation center with 40+ kids; 2 ½ years of experience in a supervisory role; and 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, inventory, and purchasing.
