Position Summary
Edgewood is seeking a compassionate and skilled Per Diem Therapist to provide high-quality, trauma-informed mental health services to youths and their families. In this role, the therapist will deliver individual and family therapy sessions—either in-person or via telehealth—as part of a team committed to supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of children, adolescents, and family. This position is for licensed clinicians looking for a meaningful opportunity to make a difference on a flexible schedule.
- Provide individual and family therapy.
- Complete mental health assessments and required intake documentation.
- Manage crisis and risk and develop appropriate safety plans.
- Determine appropriate treatment options in consultation with the client and other mental health professionals.
- Use interpersonal communication skills to develop rapport and engage clients in problem solution and negotiating conflict resolution.
- Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, schools, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provides clear documentation and timely clinical records in compliance with HIPAA and agency/funder requirements.
- Participate in team meetings.
Core Competencies
- Knowledge of individual and family therapy sessions.
- Proficient in conducting assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Ability to formulate DSM-5 diagnoses and determine appropriate level of care.
- Skilled in risk assessment, including suicidality, self-harm, abuse, and crisis situations.
- Develops and maintains individualized, measurable, and strength-based treatment plans.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain professional. Empathetic therapeutic alliances with diverse clients.
- Contributes positively to creating a healing-centered, welcoming, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming team and organization.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, humility, and sensitivity treating youth, families, and colleagues with dignity and respect.
Applied Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work or related field, with a Clinical license.
- Experience working with children, youth and families.
- Demonstrated ability in working collaboratively with individuals and groups.
- Excellent verbal, written and consultation skills.
- A valid driver's license.
The hourly rate for this position is: $90.00 an hour.
NOTE: The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued new requirements for health care and congregant care facilities to decrease the risk of COVID-19 outbreaks.
