Assisted Living and Memory care facility dedicated to excellent home-like care for seniors is seeking an LPN or Certified Medication Aid with a background in Geriatrics/Senior Living to join our team. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and flexible hours when necessary to meet the needs of our residents. The successful candidate will work with patients and families to meet the resident's needs, assist with intake and re-admissions, and supervise caregivers. Previous experience working in an Assisted Living setting is preferred.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for routine medication administration following written or verbal instructions, both prescription and non-prescription, for the Assisted Living /Memory Care residents in compliance with federal and state regulations and Woodland Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care guidelines, including the verification of identity, observation of ingestion or other application, and accurately recording dosages and times in associated medical records.
- Ensure documentation of reasons for prescribed drugs not administered.
- Provides general consultation regarding health-related concerns within the community.
- Takes vitals of residents to detect response to specified types of medication, notifying physicians and/or family members of any change in resident’s health and providing proper documentation.
- When not actively dispensing medications or preparing medications for the next set of rounds, certified medication aides revert to the duties they share with other certified nurses’ aides.
- Responds quickly to resident call signals and all emergencies.
- May record and restock medication inventory, and/or apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to residents.
- Maintains close communication with all departments and staff members.
- Understands roll in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
- Maintains confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
- Assists the Resident Service Director with any nursing related tasks as assigned,
- Supervises delivery of care by the care partners and medication technicians.
- Promotes and protects resident rights, assists residents to make informed decisions, treats residents with dignity and respect, protects resident’s personal belongings, reports suspected abuse or neglect, avoids the need for physical restraints in accordance with the current professional standards and supports independent expression, choice and decision-making consistent with applicable law and regulation.
- Informs Resident Service Director of any resident issues or concerns.
- Respects and encourages the independence and dignity of the residents.
- Respects residents’ confidentiality.
- Familiar with emergency equipment and procedures.
- Understands duties during a fire drill and is familiar with evacuation plan.
- Provides emotional and social support to residents.
- Contributes to the resident’s assessment and the plan of care.
Additional Functions:
- Must be able to take direction and supervision, to follow directions, and to work on a team in the care of the residents and general functions of assisted living.
- Must be willing to work the resident floor as needed.
- Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
- Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures of Woodland Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care
Qualifications:
- Current CMA or LPN license in Georgia
- BLS certification (CPR and first aid)
- Two (2) satisfactory references from past employers.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic Computer Skills
- Organized and multi-tasking – Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Competent in time management skills
- Good judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills, and quick learner
