About you:
We are looking for those who specifically have experience working with severe or intensive behavior (aggression, elopement, sexualized behavior, complexity of case due to intersectionality of multiple diagnoses). The qualities then that you need to possess to do the job effectively are: flexibility, adaptability, ability to think on the fly, being able to stay calm in the moment, are non-reactionary, and are comfortable working with nuance.
This certified behavior technician position requires a WA state certification which Sendan walks new employee through certification process, provides necessary training, and pays for the certification on employee's behalf.
What we’re looking for:
We are seeking individuals for one-on-one work with children and adolescents implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in a clinical setting, home setting, and school setting.
Other characteristics that our successful staff possess are: empathy, effective communication, a friendly disposition, time-management skills, attention to detail, flexibility, professionalism and a genuine desire to help children and families.
Experience with children, behavior-management, and/or Applied Behavior Analysis, including Skills Based Treatment under ABA umbrella is preferred, although, not required. All state-mandated education, training, and on-going supervision, from highly experienced behavioral specialists (Masters and PhD-level), are provided.

Hours and Wage:
Hours will vary by caseload and need. A minimum 12-month commitment is preferred, and we require you have your own reliable transportation.
Starting wage is dependent on experience and education. The starting wage range is $19-$24.00 per hour DOE.
Job Description:

- Maintain Sendan Center’s rigorous standard of record-keeping, including the safekeeping of such records in Sendan Center’s record storage systems.
- Comply fully with all privacy laws including HIPAA.
- Comply with and uphold Sendan Center’s Policies and Procedures.
- Delivers 1:1 hours, sometimes 2:1 (two staff with one client) or 3:1(three staff with one client) hours with ABA clients
- Attend all Clinical Review meetings (team meetings)
- Meet clinical competencies through assessment and observation by Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) or a Licensed Assistant Behavioral Analyst (LABA)
- Maintain professional relationship with parents/guardians and all other staff members
- Contact Behavior Specialist to resolve programmatic issues
- Provide training on terminology and procedures for all new trainees (Depending on experience)
Job Requirements
- This job requires skills such as: the ability to keep organized, ability to multitask, always maintain professionalism, have a team-work mindset, have compassion, practice patience, show the ability to effectively problem solve, and take initiative to compete tasks.
- The person in the position needs to transition from a stationary position to a moving position frequently throughout the day
- This person must be able to physically intervene with a client per a client's behavior programming. This includes using your body to block, move quickly after a client, have the physical ability to use defensive Right Response interventions such as dodge, evade, and perform holds and escorts (only when safety of the client or others is at risk).
- This person needs to be able to take data and graph accurately
- The person in this position needs to, on occasion, be able to lift 50 pounds.
