This position is a 0.4 position which is NOT eligible for benefitsGENERAL DUTIES: Provide assistance to students and the families of students eligible for special education who have autism or other disabilities affecting their behavior.REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Pupil ServicesQUALIFICATIONS: 1. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)2. Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by course work, education experience, school-level involvement and/or system-wide professional activities, and the interview processRESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide direct instruction according to Individualized Educational Programs2.
Conduct observations and evaluations including functional behavior assessments of students behavior in multiple environments3. Work cooperatively with special educators and regular educators to facilitate delivery of instruction and/or behavior intervention plans4. Demonstrate an understanding of learning process and design instruction accordingly5. Consult, as needed, with special education teachers, teaching assistants, administrators and regular classroom teachers6.
Remain current with laws and regulations regarding students with disabilities and comply with all procedural requirements of Special Education Law and Regulations7. Maintain ongoing communication with parents8. Provide training for teachers, parents and aides around management of behavior9. Guide teachers in the implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans10.
Consult with outside mental health agencies and related professionals11. Serve as a member of school-based Instructional Support Teams and Special Education TEAM meetings as required12. Conduct home visits in relationship to TEAM evaluations and individual parent consultations13. Enhance the effort toward least restrictive environment, especially inclusive efforts14.
