- Current MT-BC certification
- Reliable vehicle and comfortability traveling between sessions (mileage reimbursement)
- Hospice music therapy experience preferred (could mention a certain number of years experience as a music therapist with a different population to substitute)
- Ability to properly facilitate music therapy assessment, treatment planning, and termination across caseload in accordance with AMTA standards
- Ability to facilitate individual and group music therapy sessions with patients of varying hospice diagnoses and within memory care units.
- Comfortability with public speaking and program advocacy/willingness to participate in presentations with new facilities
- Experience working as a collaborative part of an interdisciplinary team
- Knowledge of proper music therapy documentation, clear and concise communication of observed patient behaviors...
- Bereavement work with family members after patient passing
- Professional and compassionate presence within facilities
- Musical knowledge across various genres, cultures, and religions.
- Proficiency in primary instrument and ability to utilize voice as an effective therapeutic too
