Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Nazareth University is seeking an experienced and dedicated Adjunct Instructor to join our Psychology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Introductory Psychology and possibly other undergraduate courses as needed, as well as fostering an inclusive learning environment, and upholding the mission and values of the University.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and teach assigned courses in accordance with departmental curriculum guidelines.
  • Utilize diverse instructional methods and technologies to engage, inspire, and challenge students.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Provide regular feedback and support to students, both in class and during scheduled office hours.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and department leadership on course design, assessment methods, and program initiatives.
  • Stay current on best practices and emerging trends in the relevant discipline.
Required Education, Experience, Technology and Skills
  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Previous teaching experience at the college/university level is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative academic environment.
Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills
  • PhD in psychology preferred. Familiarity with LMS /Moodle.
