About Job

As a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will develop and lead behavior support programs that foster a culture of behavioral awareness, hands-on family engagement, and meaningful individual growth. You will provide behavioral consultation, develop Positive Behavior Support Plans, and model best practices for staff, individuals served, and their families.

Position Schedule & Travel Expectations

Schedule:

  • Hybrid role:
    • Combination of remote work and on-site presence.
    • Generally, maintains a standard Monday–Friday schedule, with flexibility based on program needs.

Travel:

  • Regular travel required to all EMPOWER locations for site visits, team meetings, and program support.
  • Locations include:
    • New Bern
    • Elizabeth City
    • Ahoskie
    • Greenville
    • Morehead City
    • Wilmington
    • Jacksonville
  • Travel cadence will vary depending on operational needs, but may include weekly or bi-weekly visits, with advance coordination to minimize disruption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and promote behavioral awareness and understanding across EMPOWER programs.
  • Build supportive relationships with individuals served and their families.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and identify behavioral service needs.
  • Provide direct consultation and training to staff and families on applied behavior analysis (ABA) methodologies.
  • Create and implement Positive Behavior Support Plans.
  • Deliver professional development and in-service training to program supervisors, DSPs, and interns.
  • Support clinical integration and share feedback on staff performance to program leadership.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure confidentiality of records.
  • Follow all incident reporting protocols and uphold state regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certification: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing.
  • Licensure: Licensed Behavioral Analyst in NC.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years working with children with developmental disabilities and/or autism (preferred).
    • 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
    • Experience delivering behavior-focused training to staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and follow-up abilities.
  • Must meet qualifications as required by funding sources.
  • Current valid driver’s license with unrestricted driving privileges and proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, participants, and families in various settings, including homes, community environments, and offices.
