The above-stated pay is base pay only. This position is also eligible for an additional and discretionary, merit-based compensation of 14% of the base pay per year.

Hybrid Work Model:

This position will require a minimum of 3 days per week in our office, currently located in Henderson, NV.


Job Summary:

1. Options Counseling

  • Provide non-directive, professional counseling on all pregnancy options, including parenting, adoption, and abortion, with a special emphasis on thoroughly exploring the adoption option in accordance with informed consent principles.
  • Ensure that counseling is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive.
  • Assess each client’s values, circumstances, and mental/emotional readiness to make an autonomous decision.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of client interactions and informed consent discussions.

2. Therapeutic Counseling & Coaching

  • Provide short- and medium-term therapy or coaching to clients experiencing anxiety, grief, relational distress, or trauma related to their pregnancy or personal history.
  • Develop individualized support plans, treatment goals, and referrals as needed.
  • Coordinate with outside providers when higher levels of care are needed.

3. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with Plana’s internal team, vertical partners, and referring clinicians to ensure holistic and seamless client care.
  • Participate in case reviews and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve outcomes for clients.
  • Contribute to training, mentorship, or development of counseling protocols as needed.

4. Compliance & Ethics

  • Adhere to all applicable laws, licensing requirements, and ethical standards of social work practice.
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality and boundaries.
  • Participate in regular supervision and professional development.

5. Partner Collaboration with Mutual Clients

As part of this role, the employee may be assigned to collaborate directly with one of our strategic partner organizations on shared initiatives. This work will be integrated into the employee’s standard 40-hour workweek and will involve coordination on services provided to our mutual clients. All such assignments will align closely with the employee’s core responsibilities and contribute to the broader mission of our organization.

6. Team Support

As a small team, our work often involves crossing into areas that aren’t native to our expertise, but we all pull together to achieve our mission.


Qualifications:

  • Passion for women's wellness and alignment with Plana's mission and values.
  • Education: Master of Social Work
  • Certification or licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in good standing in the state of Nevada and readiness to obtain dual licensure in Texas.
  • At least 2 years of child welfare/adoption experience, of which one year must be full-time at a child-placing agency or supervised practice.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfort and professional integrity working in a values-based organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to complete a background check.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in adoption counseling or child welfare settings.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, or perinatal mental health.
