ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders. PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical service and research. PAR’s Medication Assisted Patient Services (MAPS) Program provides quality out-patient opioid maintenance therapy to individuals suffering from the effects of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs substance use disorder and mental health counseling work on an individual patient basis and in a group setting. Also provides evaluation, screening and assessment services. Responsible for servicing primary caseload along with other patients as assigned, and documenting in accordance with company standards. All Counselors are provided their own private office to conduct counseling sessions.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Monday 5:30AM to 1:30PM
  • Tuesday 5:30AM to 1:30PM
  • Wednesday 5:30AM to 1:30PM
  • Thursday 5:30AM to 2:30PM
  • Friday 5:30AM to 12:30PM

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field.
  • Registered marriage and family therapy, clinical social work, and mental health counseling intern.
  • Master’s degree level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) certified by the Florida Certification Board
  • Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) certified by the Florida Certification Board
  • Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) certified by the Florida Certification Board


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to manage time and resources
  • Ability to speak coherently and convey concepts
  • Computer proficiency required

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to write accurately and legibly
  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach
  • Ability to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds
  • Good hearing and vision

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid and current Driver's License or state ID card
  • Must pass level II background check and drug screen
