Job Summary:
The Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist – Associate (LCAS-A) provides clinical services to clients enrolled in outpatient and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs. Under supervision of a fully licensed LCAS, the LCAS-A delivers counseling and support services for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders, helping clients stabilize and progress in recovery through structured, evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations to determine treatment needs.
- Develop and implement person-centered treatment plans, incorporating MAT and outpatient recovery goals.
- Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, MI, relapse prevention).
- Collaborate closely with medical staff (e.g., prescribers of buprenorphine, methadone, or naltrexone) to coordinate client care.
- Educate clients on MAT, including the role of medication, behavioral therapy, and recovery supports.
- Monitor and support client adherence to MAT protocols and outpatient treatment requirements.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Participate in required supervision and clinical team meetings to review client progress and ensure quality care.
- Support clients in accessing wraparound services such as peer support, housing, employment, and community resources.
- Uphold ethical and legal standards, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations.
Qualifications:
- Active LCAS-A credential issued by the North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board (NCASPPB).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
- Experience working in outpatient or MAT settings strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of substance use treatment modalities, especially for opioid use disorders.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and co-occurring mental health treatment.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Commitment to client-centered, culturally responsive care.
Work Conditions:
- Outpatient clinic environment with structured hours; early or afternoon appointments may be required.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary team including medical, clinical, and case management staff
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.22 - $26.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
